Laurie Ochoa is the Los Angeles Times arts and entertainment editor.

Los Angeles Times arts and entertainment editor Laurie Ochoa has spent much of her career in the food world. She was executive editor of Gourmet magazine and food editor of the L.A. Times, not to mention her years eating with her late husband, the food critic Jonathan Gold. Laurie also was editor in chief of the L.A. Weekly during a time when the publication won more journalism awards than any other alternative newspaper in the country, and she co-founded the narrative journalism, fiction and arts city magazine Slake: Los Angeles. She is the co-author of "Nancy Silverton's Breads From the La Brea Bakery: Recipes for the Connoisseur" and co-editor of "We Dropped a Bomb on You: The Best of Slake I-IV."
