time as a reporter, music critic and editor for the Calendar arts and
entertainment section.
He has

cultivated a special interest in the music and culture of New Orleans, the
birthplace of jazz and a flashpoint for a broad range of rock, R&B, blues,
gospel, Cajun and zydeco music.
